Matty is an experienced sound engineer.

Perhaps best known for his work developing Lonely the Brave’s early sound and recordings, Matty continues to work with the band, producing several EP‘s in 2016 and most recently producing the ‘Redux‘ album which was released in November 2017.

He has recorded and mixed tracks for bands such as False Heads, Bloody Knees, Muertos, Grieving, The Grey and singer songwriters B-Sydes and Heartwork – and regularly works with record labels such as Columbia, Hassle & This is Fake DIY, Wrong Way and Aaahh!!! Real Records.

“I have worked with Matty on several occasions and I have, and will continue to, recommend him on further projects. He will always go that extra mile to make a project stand out sonically. He has the patience and tact to put a band at ease and get a great performance alongside the creative input, technical knowledge and tenacity to really bring the songs alive” – James Parrish (Prescription PR)

With a BSc (Hons) in Audio & Music Technology, his early years recording and touring with his own bands provided the platform for him to hone his engineering skills. As an accomplished guitarist, he is familiar with working on both sides of the mixing desk & his relaxed manner can bring a calming influence to the most pressured of recording sessions. Matty has contributed articles to Sound on Sound Magazine and is also a member of the UK Music Producers Guild.

He became one of the in-house engineers at Half-ton Studios (Cambridge) in 2008 and his unassuming production style hides a striking ability to bring clarity and direction to projects under his watch.
